Last summer we received the following email for a San Mateo Marriott Hotel Wedding:
“My name is Shane S —–s, getting married on 3-17-11 in San Mateo, Ca. Wedding is at St Gregory’s church and reception is at the San Mateo Marriott. You were referred to us by Mike and Megan M——o. I am marrying Megan’s sister Erin… Thanks and we look forward to having you photograph our special day.”
Hagop and I of course remembered Erin from her sister’s wedding. She was the Maid of Honor. Mike and Megan and their families were great to work with. When we checked on availability of the date we realize that it was a Thursday. You may think this is odd for a wedding, but not really. It took us a while to realize the significance of the day. It was St. Patrick’s Day! Both Shane and Erin are Irish. After that point their wedding took on a different personality!
Getting ready at the San Mateo Marriott Hotel
Green, green, green. No, the bride wore white. Almost everything else was green and tastefully chosen. The cute flower girls are Erin’s nieces and her sisters are her bridesmaids and Matron of Honor! The photo of the bride wearing the green hat was just for fun.
Shane and the Guys at St Gregory’s Church in the San Mateo
Green, green, green. They didn’t wear the hats all day but they had so much fun in the photo session that we wanted to put them in the blog. When you’re looking through the pictures, look at the guy’s ties.

St Gregory’s Church San Mateo Catholic Wedding Ceremony
St Gregory’s Church is a picturesque Catholic Church. The ceremony was wonderful. Shane and Erin had hired a harpist and soloist that added to the uplifting mood of the wedding ceremony. A bagpiper led the recessional.
A Photo Session in Central Park San Mateo, CA
On the way to the wedding reception Erin, Shane Hagop and I stopped off at Central Park San Mateo for a short photo session. We took some romantic and fun portraits of them. Now, off to join the guests at the cocktail hour.

San Mateo Marriott Hotel Wedding Reception
There were lots of children at the wedding reception. Erin and Shane had bags with games etc. for the kids to keep busy during the reception. This allowed both young and old to enjoy the wedding reception. After the first dance Hagop took them outside the Marriot to take some photographs with the gazebo the have on property.
